join.me - Simple Meetings App Reviews

Daily Use - Excellent

We run a virtual development team spanning 6 states across 3 time zones... with daily stand-up meetings and weekly demos to a very broad audience (technical and non-tech). We have found the tool to be exceptional for our needs. While we have periodically had issues with users being able to connect or dropping, these are quite sporadic and have not impacted the satisfaction of our viewers or presenters. We do use the whiteboard feature, and found it to be extraordinarily useful for the very dynamic creativity and design meetings. Ive read the other reviews of this tool, and while having experienced some of those issues, we believe Join.Me is the best option among the players weve used thus far (all the biggies). In fairness, Ill give them 4 of 5 stars to allow room to improve on some of the critiques - but I wouldnt give any of the other options anything above 2s and 3s on that same criteria.

Simply the Best

join.me is absolutely the fastest and easiest conferencing tool out there, and the mobile app takes it to a whole new level of convenient and efficient.

Been buggy lately

Lately when Im on my phone I cant seem to join off of a link that Im being given to join and have to manually type in the join code. Every time I try to join by a link it takes me to the App Store to download the app however I already have the app downloaded on my phone and if I try to open it from that page I get nothing except the home page.

Functional and Form Fitting

Efficient function in a nifty app. Lets me present & collaborate, and it keeps a low profile to allow the message to be delivered. I recommend this one over 4 others Ive tried. Some of them are more expensive.

No screen sharing

I would love to share my screen on join me but if I want to draw and stream, I have to use whiteboard which isnt good. Please find a way for me to be able to share my screen so I can stream while using another app!

Constant problems

From permanently pausing to blackening out to not even connecting to join me addresses, dont even try this app until these problems get fixed

100% Reliability!

I just recently started using my join.me app for conference calling, although Ive been a very happy screen share customer for a long time. This mobile app is the coolest thing ever and I was especially thrilled to find that my pro package includes a white board app as well. I do believe all of my needs have officially been met for one low price every month. I especially appreciate the 100% reliability of the software. Unlike my conference calling program, I have never, ever had a single bad call through join.me. I know that I am still under-utilizing this amazing package, but I am an extremely satisfied customer nonetheless!

So much better than Webex!

I love join.me. Its easy to use, doesnt require an install for your viewers, and it supports mobile viewing. Setting up a web conference takes no time at all. Voice chat and text chat works well. I wish my company used join.me pro instead of Webex. I use join.me (free) primarily for screen sharing while playing video games with friends.

Not that great

It would be better if the app could share different screens for if youre on a phone it would share the screen of different apps

Owned by evil Corp

This company violates my ethical rules.

Love the new iPhone app

Worked flawlessly, super easy and intuitive to use. MASSIVE improvement over he last app. Recommended!

So awesome!

Loving the ease of use of this app. Quite slick.

Excellent app

This iPad version runs smoothly. A lot better than the pic version wish has problems with mouse control.

looks good. priced wrong for small startups

So I really do like what I had a chance to look at in the app while I checked it out for an hour. The ink and app seem pretty good. But heres the deal... I noticed the pricing wasnt going to work for us. Im trying to use it for a startup of 3 guys. The app gives you 15 day trial which for some reason immediately showed 13 days left on the first day. Ill meet these guys some time this week to pitch tools for us to consider using but I wont even mention this app because there is no way with like 5-6 days left of the trial we can tell if it is going to fit the workflow we are building. By the time they get set up my trial will be over and it will be $60/month just to try it, many other tools to choose, and we have no revenue yet. No time and money to waste on an app that we dont know if it fits. It is collaboration software so it seems like youd want to let small companies build around it charging for team growth and increased usage instead of pricing people out of even trying it. Offering a free tier of 5 or less team members or a tier of X hours free per month would make it possible to educate team members and build processes around it to know the value is there. Please provide a pricing scheme that can grow with us and well look again.

Love it!

Always been a participant and it has always worked well with my iPad Pro. Works like a charm!

Buggy and missing key features

UI needs major help. Too many clicks to get into a group call. Not able to set it on mute before you enter the call. No speaker phone support. Had numerous issues where it would go into a broken state and I had to kill the app to close the call. Please fix these issues!

Good, however...

This app needs to let the user record using their phone camera instead of just sharing a white board.

Horrific.

This app is horrifically bad. I commonly watch streams of my friends drawing. This app: -Takes incredibly long to correct -Lags like crazy -Crashes constantly -Doesnt display the close button in the chat occasionally, forcing you to leave the stream and rejoin to fix it -Calls barely work -Turns black and refuses to work -Freezes -Freezes your device -Seriously, the chat lag is horrific This needs to be updated, for christs sake.

Mic

Says mic is t on but it is in settings and doesnt work when I reinstall . Really annoying

Works but two big gotchas

Works great, but there are two big gotchas with the user experience. First gotcha: joining the meeting is not enough! It is a TWO STEP PROCESS. You begin with NO AUDIO, unless you remember to also click the phone icon, and connect there as well. This should have been integrated. Second gotcha: YOUR MICROPHONE BEGINS HOT! You must remember to mute your microphone. Should have been a single tap of a top-level icon to do this, as it is a common user task, but instead it takes many clicks into a sub-menu to mute and un-mute.
